Join a ranger as we explore the Paluxy River and all its wonders on foot!

We will get into the river at the Ballroom Track Site and will walk the river searching for dinosaur tracks and other interesting things that can be found in a river ecosystem. Come prepared to get completely wet. 

Please don’t bring personal belongings that you don’t want to get wet, i.e. iPads, iPhones etc, unless they are in a waterproof bag.

We will be in the river for about 2 hours. Recommended for ages 8 and up. No pets. 

Meet at the park store. Please arrive 15 minutes early

Distance: 1.25 - 2 miles

Meet: At Park Store 

Bring: Durable water shoes/shoes you don’t mind getting wet (no flip flops) are required for participation. You can also rent waders and neoprene bibs at the Park Store. Wet bags/Ziplocs, snacks, sunscreen, hats, and water bottles are recommended.

Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.
