Interested in learning about what it takes to cook with cast iron? Join us for an introduction to cast iron cooking and learn about the history behind that big black pot while you enjoy a sweet treat!

WHERE: 

The Amphitheater at Cedar Hollow

WHEN: 

December 21, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

EXPECT TO:   

- Learn a little bit about the tradition and history of cast iron cookware
- Learn the basics of how to properly care for and use cast iron
- Observe a cooking demonstration
- Enjoy a yummy treat and maybe even swap some recipes or tips and tricks with rangers and other veteran Dutch oven chefs

All ages are and skill levels are welcomed. Please come with plenty of questions!

 

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event and pets must remain on a leash at all times. Remember to dress according to the season and come prepared with water, sun block, and/or bug spray. Camp chairs and personal/re-usable utensils (reduce, reuse, recycle!) are recommended.

Program free with paid park entry and is subject to cancellation due to weather.
