Join a park ranger and learn all about the wings of a bird!
From the keratin in their beaks, to the bones in their toes, birds are specifically adapted to fly. Using the birds' wings as a guide, we can gather information about the birds' hunting, flight, and migration habits. This program will cover the wings of a Canada goose, a Cooper's hawk, and a Great Horned Owl, among others. Please meet at Picnic Pavilion One.
Meet: Picnic Pavilion One.
Bring: Dress for the weather and bring water. Binoculars are highly encouraged, and a field guide is optional.
Note: This program is weather dependent. Park programs are open and free to the public with entrance fee ($7 per adult ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are always free!). No need to register, just show up.
